GEAR4 today announced the release of its newest portable speaker,the USB-powered BlackBox micro . As the smallest speaker in the company's range, the speaker canenhance the audio playback abilities of laptops or MP3 playersthanks to an included mini USB-to-USB cable. There are two drivershidden in the plastic shroud, with one dedicated to high notes, theother an SFX gel base driver for bass reproduction.
The travel speaker connects to any source audio devices via a 3.5mmaudio cable jack, which is included. Powering the speaker is theUSB cable, although an AC adapter is not included, requiring acomputer connection. The BlackBox micro will be available in the UKthis August and carry an equivalent price of about $40.
