Barrandov TV to launch in 2009

Barrandov TV, a new Czech digital channel, will startbroadcasting on Jan. 11, the channel's owner, Barrandov TelevisionStudio, said Monday. The channel will primarily target cityresidents from age 30, providing glossed broadcasting, unusualentertainment programs, European films and documentaries.

According to head of programming Premysl Svora, the channel alsowill have a production division, and plans to make a sitcom areunder way. Barrandov TV will be available via satellite, set-topbox and cable.
