A Nebraska man has sued custom car andbike-maker Jesse James, claiming the former television host failedto deliver a custom automobile despite paying more $420,000.
Michael B. Jones, of Omaha, Neb. filed the suit on Wednesday in LosAngeles Superior Court against James and his company, West CoastChoppers, Inc.
The lawsuit claims Jones ordered a "sleek and low-slung custom"1949 Cadillac Sedanette from James and agreeing to pay between$250,000 and $350,000. Jones said he intended to enter the Cadillacin auto show contests.
Jones claims he was told the cost of the car would skyrocket tobetween $600,000 and $700,000. The car, he said, has never beendelivered.
James hosted the cable television show "Monster Garage" from 2003to 2007 and is married to actress Sandra Bullock. Attempts to reachJames or West Coast Choppers by phone and e-mail after hours wereunsuccessful.
The civil suit seeks a return of $422,680 that Jones said he paidJames, interest, and punitive damages and alleges breach ofcontracts, fraud and unfair competition.
