Young China market gearing up for telematics

More China makers are developing high-end GPS products that can beconsidered telematic devices. Some companies are planning toincorporate Bluetooth in their products.

Telematics are used for management of taxis and buses. Some makersare developing products that support location positioning, carsecurity and car orders.

Some suppliers are establishing partnerships with travel agents andretail shops to introduce new applications.

Large-scale makers employ R&D engineers for molding design,electric and mechanism design, and software design. CPIT, forinstance, has 70 R&D engineers handling hardware design, RFreception sensitivity improvement, power consumption reduction andstorage approach.
