Shimla (PTI): Former chief minister Virbhadra Singh on Mondaycharged Prem Kumar Dhumal government with tapping his phones anddeploying CID personnel around his residence to keep an eye overhis political activities.
"The BJP government is getting my mobile phone as well landlinephones at Shimla, Rampur and my native place Sarahan tapped to keepan eye over my political movement," Singh, the five times chiefminister of the state, told PTI.
The vetern Congress leader also alleged that CID personnel had beenposted around his residence in Shimla and elsewhere to keepround-the-clock track of people meeting him and his activities. "These were carried out by some police officers trying to impressthe CM for getting favours," he said.
"He (Dhumal) did the same during his previous tenure as CM of thestate from 1998-2003 and is repeating the same this time too," theCongress leader alleged.
Singh said the BJP government could not corner him by indulging inpersonal vendetta against him. "I am ready to face any kind of inquiry," he added. He said the BJP government which got peoples mandate to work forthe welfare of the masses was in reality "wasting" time in fixingpolitical rivals.
