Top Gear trio to switch on lights

Presenters from BBC Two's Top Gear programme are to switch on thisyear's Blackpool illuminations.
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May will flick theswitch on 29 August to mark the start of a 66-day run of theresort's famous lights.
Thousands of tourists are set to visit the town to see the six-milestretch of illuminations along the promenade.
The switch-on will coincide with a free concert and will bebroadcast live on BBC Radio 2.
This year's illuminations will include new designs for the secondyear running from interior design guru Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.
The council is also planning to ask firms in the town to contributemore towards the upkeep of the resort's lights after it wasrevealed that donations from businesses in the town have dropped by50% over the past decade.
