An optional application programming interface (API) is availablewith the CableEye cable and wire harness tester. The API softwarelibrary enables control of the tester by an external program. Testengineers can now write software for CableEye in Visual Basic,VB.NET, C++, C#, or from any software environment that can host thecompany’s Active-X software interface.

The library providessoftware primitives used to exercise control over all basic testerfunctions, permitting engineers to embed the tester’sfunction within a larger system, such as electrical cable lockdown,label printing equipment, pass-fail marking devices, divertergates, and automatic molding equipment. CableEye checks cables andwire harnesses for opens, shorts, and miswires, measures diodeforward voltage, checks resistance values, and tests conduction andisolation resistance against specified thresholds.
