A corrupted computer server temporarily disrupted digital cable service this week to Time Warner Cable customers in Cedar Hill, Lancaster, Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Addison, DeSoto and some areas of South Dallas.

Gary Underwood, Time Warner Cable's director of communications, said crews were upgrading digital service Monday when the corrupt server was found.

Only a small percentage of customers were affected and the server problem has been fixed, he said.

A signal was being sent to reset customers' cable boxes, which "takes a while to cycle through."

Customers who are still experiencing service issues may call 972-742-5892.

Duncanville police identified a burglary suspect who was shot Tuesday afternoon as Patrick Edward Houston, 18, of Mesquite.

Officers responding to a 3:30 p.m. burglary call in the 300 block of Partridge Run Drive found Mr. Houston with a gunshot wound in the abdomen, city spokeswoman Tonya Lewis said.

He apparently was shot by a resident of the home that he's accused of trying to break into, though police have declined to identify the shooter.

Mr. Houston was taken to Methodist Dallas Medical Center, and detectives have spoken to him, Ms. Lewis said. It was unclear what charges he might face.

Police were still looking for a second suspect Wednesday, she said.
