UMES scored its runs in the top of the fifth inning, as Tyler Love drove in a run and Phil Vaughn singled in another.

Ken Richardson started the game, but he only lasted two innings. He gave up nine runs off 10 hits and struck out three.

Russel Deutschmann was the only Hawk to get an extra-base hit, with a triple, Vaughn had three hits.

HOLLY GROVE 20, GREENWOOD MENNONITE 3. Courtney Strautz was the winning pitcher, and Holly Grove's Leigh Willing had four hits (three doubles), and Katelyn Mitchel and Alyssa Reese each had two hits.

POCOMOKE 22, CRISFIELD 0. Beverly Weaver was the winning pitcher, giving up five hits and striking out five. She also had four hits, Kelly Cowger had three, and Michelle Roberts added two.

STEPHEN DECATUR 10, JAMES M. BENNETT 0, 6 INN. Winning pitcher Maddie Justice gave up four hits and no runs, and she struck out seven. The Seahawks' Alli Justice, Shelby Jones and Erika Andrews each had three hits, and Andrews added three RBIs. Shae Nottingham had two hits.

STEPHEN DECATUR 2, POCOMOKE 1. Holly Melson was the winning pitcher Thursday. She struck out 11. The Seahawks' Kylie Nottingham had three hits, and Shelby Jones hit a home run and a double. The Warriors' Sara Scher had a triple and scored a run.

STEPHEN DECATUR 14, KENT COUNTY 8. Oliva Turner and Bethany Howe each scored four goals for the Seahawks, and Nicole Dougan added two. Taylor Blazer had one goal and three assists.

PARKSIDE BOYS FINISH SECOND AT KENT ISLAND. For the boys, the Rams' Zach Bettis finished first in the mile (4:58, Zach Temple won the two mile (10:19), Kwame Bryant won the 100 meters and 200m (22.9), and the 4x800, 4x200 and 4x100 relays teams won. On the girls side, Kristen Wright finished first in the high jump (4 feet, 6 inches) and the 800m (3:43), and Meghan Jones finished in second in the 100m hurdles.

DELMAR 19, WICOMICO 7. David Webster was the winning pitcher, and he also went 3-for-4. The Wildcats' Joe Pete added two hits. The Indians' Colin Topping went 3-for-3, David Brown had four hits, and Chris Bozeman added three.

SUSSEX TECH 10, LAUREL 0. Zach Adkins was the winning pitcher, and the Ravens' Cody Shields and George Goodwin each hit home runs.

POCOMOKE 15, CRISFIELD 4. Eric Breithut was the winning pitcher, and Kenny Gaston (four RBIs) and Steve Beauchamp (two RBIs) each had two hits. Matthew Kelley hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs. The Crabbers' Bill Mills had a double and drove in two runs.

Derrick Gibson pitched seven innings and gave up five runs and struck out nine batters for the win Thursday. He also had two RBIs. The Blue Jays' Robb Payne added an RBI. The Wildcats' Joe Pete had four RBIs.

PARKSIDE 11, WICOMICO 5. Daniel Trivits was the winning pitcher, striking out 11 on Thursday. The Rams' Seth Illian went 2-for-3 with four runs. The Indians' Chris Bozeman had three hits, and Colin Topping and Rick Hoffman each had two.

STEPHEN DECATUR 7, WICOMICO 0. James Pack, Kevin Ma, David Giusti, Andrew Murrell, Kosi Aroh and the doubles teams of Mike Sise-Dakota Marchio and Trevor Britt-Brandon Pollack won for the Seahawks.

PARKSIDE 6, STEPHEN DECATUR 1. Roxy Cook, Cheyenne Hammel, Jess Lichty, Kate Oros and the doubles teams of April Ferraro-Allison Lutz and Rebecca Cross-Maci Wallacel won for the Rams on Thursday.

COLT AND PALOMINO LEAGUE REGISTRATIONS. The Salisbury Colt and Palomino League will hold registrations on today from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Wicomico Memorial Field on Civic Avenue.

WICOMICO RECREATION SOFTBALL LEAGUE TO OPEN SOON. The Wicomico County Recreation's Junior Girls Softball League will start on May 10 at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex.

Opening ceremonies for the Pre-Minor and Minor Leagues will begin at 9 a.m. and the last game will conclude at 4 p.m. Major I and Major II League opening ceremonies are scheduled for 2 p.m. with the last game beginning at 5 p.m.

MAIN STREET GYM TO HOLD CHARITY GOLF TOURNAMENT. The Main Street Gym is holding a Charity Golf Tournament at the Greenhill Yacht & Country Club on Friday, May 9th. The cost is $100 per person and $400 for a foursome. Registration is at 10 a.m. and the start will be at 12 p.m. There will be Pork BBQ, Jerk Chicken and sides with unlimited beer as well. There will also be two hole-in-one prizes as they will receive a new luxury automobile. There will be prizes for first and second in gross and first, second and third in net. There will also be a Long Drive Award and a Closest to Pin on a Par 3 award.
