September 26, 2008 – Ethernet Direct released an industrial8-port Ethernet Switch, IRE-800EC with extended temperature,conformal coating technology and supporting Modbus over TCP.

The Iguana series IRE-800EC is an eight port Industrial EthernetReal-Time Redundant Ring Switch engineered for mission critical,the devices installed need to assure reliable 24x7 operations. Itcomes ready with conformal coating and extended temperature of -40to +80 degrees C. In addition, its shielded Ethernet portconnectors to offer a high reliability Ethernet environment forindustrial control and automation. IRE-800EC provides two powerinputs that can be connected simultaneously to live DC powersources. If one of the power inputs fails, the other live sourceacts as a backup to automatically and the relay output facility candeliver warning signal while dual power or network link failure.

IRE-800EC supports Modbus/TCP, Modbus/RTU and OPC protocols toprovide majority of applications with a seamless process. In SCADAapplications, it can monitor the status of Ethernet and fiber portwith Modbus or OPC protocol. When IRE-800EC devices are placed intoa redundant ring application, its redundant ring technology detectsand recovers a fiber or copper link failure in milliseconds.
