SYLVANIA Lighting Services Acquires Amtech Lighting

DANVERS, Mass., Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- SYLVANIA Lighting Services(SLS), a subsidiary of lighting manufacturer OSRAM SYLVANIA, hassigned an agreement to buy the operating assets of Amtech LightingServices from ABM Industries Incorporated. The transaction isexpected to close prior to Oct. 31, 2008, subject to customaryclosing conditions.
"SYLVANIA Lighting Services will now be the country's mostcomprehensive lighting service organization," said Tim Lesch , OSRAM SYLVANIA vice president of General Illumination sales andmarketing. "We will continue to provide Amtech Lighting customerswith world-class service, delivered by an expanded network ofhighly effective service professionals and backed-up by a powerfulinfrastructure with state-of-the-art technology."
The deal will expand SLS to new local and regional markets acrossthe country and strengthen its presence in the banking, office andindustrial markets. The SLS service fleet will increase from 500 to900 vehicles nationwide, following the sale.
