Call center will employ 150 in Las Vegas

A new customer service telecommunications center is bringing 150jobs to Las Vegas (N.M.).
Results Las Vegas is a company created by Paramount Multiservices , based in Corpus Christi, Texas. The firm will take over a site inthe northern New Mexico community vacated by another call center, The Connection .
Results Las Vegas employees will take incoming calls for clientssuch as insurance companies, said Sharon Vander Meer, executivedirector of the Las Vegas-San Miguel Economic Development Corp.
There will be a kickoff event on August 4 at 10 a.m. at Sala deMadrid on the campus of New Mexico Highlands University to welcome the new business. Fred Mondragon, secretary of thestate's Economic Development Department, will give a keynoteaddress. The company will have applications available for jobseekers.
Results Las Vegas received $45,000 through Mondragon's departmentfor renovation work at the site. The company also was allocated$350,000 in Job Training Incentive Partnership funds.
