Hexagon has entered into an agreement to acquire theChinese company Serein Metrology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. SereinMetrology develops and produces a wide range of advanced precisionmeasuring instruments in the micro area of the measurementtechnologies market.

The company provides high quality products,solutions and services to the automotive industry, aerospace anddefence industry, engineering industry, die and mould industry,electronics, IT and medical industry. Serein Metrology will beconsolidated as of 1 August 2008 and will immediately contribute toHexagon's earnings. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Midland, MI -- Dow Chemical Co. has reported sales of $16.4 billionfor the second quarter of 2008, 23 percent higher than the sameperiod last year, setting another quarterly sales record. Netincome for the quarter was $762 million. This compares with netincome of $1,039 million in the second quarter of 2007. Dowreported earnings for the current quarter of $0.81 per share versusearnings of $1.07 per share in the second quarter of 2007.
