Supple will fight to be Blues number one

SHANE Supple has fired a warning at new Blues number one Richard Wright and vowed he will not have things all his own way.

The 30-year-old Wright has signed from West Ham in an initial £500,000, rising with add-ons, on a two-year deal, with the option of a third.

But after playing in all four friendlies so far, 21-year-old Supple is determined to make a fight of the goalkeeping spot.

Supple said: “It was good playing 90 minutes every game and I felt I did well. I know he (Jim Magilton) has brought in Richard, but I want to play and will be pushing to do that.

“He won't be getting an easy ride. I will make him work hard for his place.”

Wright last night admitted he wasn't sure the deal would ever get done.

He said: “I was worried that things were not going to work out, what with the move taking so long, especially after what happened last year, when I probably didn't show enough patience.”
