Sumosalad wins best food retailer of the year

Healthy food franchise, SumoSalad, was announced the best foodretailer of the year at the 2008 American Express Rewards forExcellence, presented by the National Retailers Association (NRA).
The award comes at the same time as reports that Australia has nowsurpassed America in having the most obese population in the world,so hopefully more people will now actually make the switch tohealthier fast-food alternatives like SumoSalad.
This is the second year in a row that SumoSalad has won theWestfield Best Food Retailer of the Year award. Now in their 14thyear, the awards are designed to recognise outstanding Australianretailers and to promote the pursuit of excellence in retailingthrough recognition and reward.
SumoSalad currently has over 60 outlets across Australia withseveral more in Dubai, London and soon New Zealand.
Last week they opened a new SumoSalad Black Label concept store inDoncaster, VIC (featuring a new evening dining option) and alsorecently appointed renowned culinary Olympic chef, Peter Wright, toassist with new menu developments for the brand.
The new SumoSalad Black Label store will feature a centralisedTeppanyaki style hot plate and cooking area so customers can seefood prepared fresh in front of their eyes, with sleek, marblestone bench tops and warm lighting as part of the new store design.In the evenings, a variety of grilled fish and tender meats with achoice of gourmet side salads or grilled vegetables will be offeredas main courses in addition to regular SumoSalad menu items such aslarge gourmet salads, soups, wraps, organic coffee and more. Three more SumoSalad Black Label stores are due to open in SydneyAirport, London and Dubai.
