SkyTraq has introduced what it claims is the world's highestintegration single-chip GPS receiver using its low-power Venus6TGPS architecture. The Venus634LP integrates LNA, SAW filter, RFfront-end, GPS baseband, 0.5ppm TCXO, RTC crystal, LDO regulator,and passive components; enabling the completion of a GPS receiverrequires only an antenna and Venus634LP.
Featuring high integration, 1cm² footprint, ultra-fast TTFF,high sensitivity, and low current consumption, the GPS receiverenables low cost of embedding location awareness into portableapplications without compromising size, performance, and batterylife.
Compatible with both active and passive antenna, the receiverconsumes 50mA during signal acquisition and 30mA during full powercontinuous tracking. The signal parameter search engine within thedevice is capable of performing 8 million time-frequency hypothesistesting per second, offering ultra-fast 1 second hot start and 29second cold start under open sky. Advanced track engine allowstracking sensitivity of -158dBm, enabling continuous navigation inharsh environments such as urban canyon and under deep foliage.
The Venus634LP is housed in a 10 x 10 x 1.2mm 44-lead LGA package.Volume delivery to customer begins in Q3 of 2008.
