A plane ride would be a lot less boring with WiFi to help pass thetime. (Think of all the History Channel programs you'd be able todownload and watch from iTunes!) Finally -- American Airlines hasannounced it will begin testing in-flight WiFi in the coming weeks.
AA will deploy WiFi on 15 jets; testing could take as long as sixmonths, according to a ComputerWorld article . Supposedly the testing focuses on the performance of the WiFirather than flight safety -- which is puzzling since in-flightwireless gaming was banned in Japan in fear of interrupting plane instruments. Technology-wise, is theU.S. ahead of Japan for once? Probably not, but we'll just have towait and see.
