July 16, 2008 - EmbedRF miniature wireless board can be easilyconfigured as a periodic transceiver for applications such asdata-logging, or an on-demand transceiver for remote controlapplications. With 4 analog inputs, EmbedRF can directly interfacewith voltage-output sensors and transmit the information up to 50feet.
Bidirectional transmit/receive point-to-point andpoint-to-multipoint capabilities make this module a unique wirelesssolution for applications requiring a simple off-the- shelf,low-power, turn-key answer. Weighing in at only 1.4g and sized at atiny 0.8" x 0.7" - about the size of a postage stamp - EmbedRF evenincludes an on-board antenna in its 4-layer board. Less than 0.2"thick, this transceiver is ideal for including in size- consciousproducts like toys, personal or medical loggers, or mobileequipment.
Operating with an output power up to 5dBm at frequencies from400MHz to 928MHz, EmbedRF modules feature intelligent search andsophisticated 24-bit security capabilities. EmbedRF can work on 2.0to 3.6V from - 40degC to 85degC without trimming. EmbedRF willoperate in point-to-point one- way, two-way, or two-way multipointstar-connection. Based on Chipcon's CC1100 chipset, EmbedRFtypically uses less than 0.3uA when sleeping, so with periodictransmissions of 0.25s to 12.75s an extremely long battery life ispossible - average current consumption ranges from 255uA to as lowas 6 uA depending on transmission interval. EmbedRF offers up tofour analog inputs with 10-bit resolution for 0 - 3V signals, or 2analog inputs and 2 digital output lines. EmbedRF configuration isvery easy with the pull-down menu software provided. This uniquetransceiver module also does CRC RF packet error checking, and evenprovides a digital RSSI signal output.
