Tramac has introduced its newest light-range breaker, the SC-42,into the SC-Series line of hydraulic hammers and the V2500 andV1800 into its line of heavy-range hydraulic breakers.
The SC- 42 expands the SC-Series to a total of eight breakers tofit carriers from 2,200 to 30,900 pounds, and is specificallydesigned the skid steer, backhoe loader, and mini and mid-sizeexcavator markets.
The SC-42 is for carriers from 11,000 to 26,500 pounds and has anoperating weight of 967 pounds. With an operating pressure of 1,812pounds per square inch, the SC-42 has a flow range of 14.5 to 26.4gallons per minute. This hydraulic breaker is rated at an impactenergy class of 1,250 foot-pounds and has an impact frequency rangeof 550 to 1,450 blows per minute. The tool diameter is 3.31 inches.
The V2500 is for carriers from 59,500 to 88,200 pounds and has anoperating weight of 5,555 pounds. With an operating pressure of2,248 pounds per square inch, the V2500 has a flow range of 46 to66 gallons per minute. This hydraulic breaker is rated at an impactenergy class of 8,000 foot-pounds and has an impact frequency rangeof 300 to 500 blows per minute.
The V1800 is for carriers from 44,100 to 77,200 pounds and has anoperating weight of 3,913 pounds. With an operating pressure of2,394 pounds per square inch, the V1800 has a flow range of 37 to58 gallons per minute. This hydraulic breaker is rated at an impactenergy class of 6,000 foot-pounds and has an impact frequency rangeof 310 to 500 blows per minute. The tool diameter is 5.5 inches.
The SC-42 includes many of the SC-Series features including anautomatic pressure regulator that ensures that the breaker operatesat maximum performance on all carriers, regardless of flowvariations. Upper and lower shock absorbers isolate the breakerfrom the carriage, reducing noise and vibrations transferred to thecarrier and the operator. The SC-42 also has an energy chamber, which features a diaphragm design that holds its
charge without requiring regular nitrogen refills.
As with all SC-Series breakers, maintenance is easy with the SC-42because
it has fewer moving parts and if needed, the breaker can quickly bedisassembled without special tools. The SC-42 features aninternally-mounted retaining pin clip that makes tool change-outquick and easy and reduces clip fatigue.
Several new features have been incorporated into the V2500 design.A one-
piece bushing is among the new features and a large tool diameterof 6.3
inches. The principal wear parts, including the bushing, arefield-replaceable without dismounting the breaker from the carrieror removing any tie rods. Up to 2.5 gallons per minute can bediverted through the integrated flow control to protect the breakerfrom carrier overflow. A high back-pressure tolerance of 363 poundsper square inch allows the V2500 to be easily installed on a widerange of carriers.

A high back-pressure tolerance of 363 pounds per squareinch allows the V1800 to be easily installed on a wide range ofcarriers.
As with all Tramac heavy-range breakers, the V2500 and V1800 comeswith variable-speed breaker technology. This technology senseschanges in material hardness and automatically adjusts the breakerto the optimal combination of impact energy and striking rate.Additionally, an energy recovery system recycles recoil energy andadds it to the next blow.
Maintenance for the Tramac heavy-range breaker line is minimal dueto a blank fire protection feature that prevents metal-to-metalcontact that can damage a hammer. The heavy-duty,abrasion-resistant cradle also protects the hammer and its internalcomponents from damage and excessive wear.
