Top Gear executive producer Andy Wilman said: "The boys are reallylooking forward to it as one of the things they all enjoy isturning on lights."
Councillor Maxine Callow, from Blackpool Council, said onWednesday: "We are absolutely delighted that the Top Gear team hasaccepted our invitation to switch on this years lights.
"I know that this will be a very popular choice with the wide rangeof audience that the switch-on attracts."
She added: "Radio 2 always provide a superb standard of toprecording artistes for the free concert leading up to and includingthe switch-on itself and we hope that thousands of fans of Top Gearand Blackpool fans will join us in the celebrations and that theystay to enjoy all the free events Blackpool will be hostingthroughout the weekend and indeed during the illuminations season."
