Celtel Nigeria launches fixed payphone service
Celtel Nigeria has launched a fixed payphone service targetingNigerians unable to afford mobile phones or who live or work inplaces where mobile phone use is restricted. The service consistsof a fixed payphone terminal and a special SIM card which can becarried about and recharged like a normal pre-paid SIM card. Theoperator claims the offering will help the government's UniversalAccess Initiative which is aimed at increasing telecoms accessacross the country.
