Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials announced that asecond-generation VaporStation central delivery system, whichprovides several enhancements to the original version, is nowavailable.
According to company officials, the new systems use the latestversion of the IvMB inverted mini bubbler, optimized controlsoftware and an improved panel layout.
As a global supplier of metalorganic (MO) precursors, Rohm and Haassaid it designed the VaporStation central delivery system incooperation with Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc., a provider of moleculedelivery systems for more than 15 years. The system is designed todeliver trimethylgallium (TMGa) and other MO precursors to multipleMO chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) reactors from a central supplysource cabinet using a high-purity carrier gas. MO precursors areused to produce LEDs, solar cells, laser diodes for CD and DVD, andother compound semiconductor devices.
Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials noted it engineered the upgradedsystem to provide a near constant fill level in the IvMBevaporator, optimized metalorganic-carrier gas intermixing, andimproved efficiency and ergonomics.
"First-generation systems have been installed at industry-leadingmanufacturers since 2004 with an excellent record for reliabilityand performance," said Joe Reiser, general manager for Rohm andHaas Electronic Materials' Metalorganics business. "Everything welearned from the use of these systems and the customer feedback wereceived was incorporated into the design of the secondgeneration."
Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials anticipates that the installedbase of its VaporStation central delivery system will continue torise quickly and has recently installed several second-generationVaporStation central delivery systems at LED manufacturers and moreinstallations are scheduled this year. As the high-brightness LEDindustry continues to add capacity, the industry is turning towardstechnology to reduce their production costs and drive efficiency.
Rohm and Haas is involved in the creation and development oftechnologies and solutions for the specialty materials industry.Rohm and Haas Electronic Materials develops and delivers materialsolutions and processes to the electronic and optoelectronicindustries.
