Tag : Miniature Product

IXYS Corp. announced the expansion of its Schottky diode product families toinclude the small SMA and SMB SMD packages. With these miniaturepackages (with voltage ratings of 40, 60 and 100V), the devices aresaid to offer high power density, especially for portable products.
The product family with these packages are Schottky diodes withvoltage ratings from 40 up to 100V. Rectifiers with Schottkybarriers are well suited for power applications having highswitching frequencies and low voltage rectification with low energylosses. Combined with the advantages of the small standardizedpackages (SMA and SMB), it is claimed that the customer is able toachieve a compact design with improved power performance at thelowest cost.
Typical applications are battery powered chargers and circuits, solar powered battery charging, solar cell panel bypass protection, power supplies, dc-dc converters and polarity protection or‘ORing’-circuits for multiple supply voltages.
"As part of the ‘climate savers’ initiative and ourcorporate strategy, these products are part of our commitment toexpand the solutions we offer the industry in order to save power,"commented Dr. Nathan Zommer CEO of IXYS.
Schottky rectifiers are available with different designs supportinga variety of applications. Optimized characteristics include verylow forward voltage drop, low reverse leakage current and what isdescribed as an excellent dynamic behavior.
