Enfis lands Chinese medical contract

SWANSEA-based technology company Enfis has secured a lucrative £1m pluscontract with a Chinese venture which will see its lightingtechnology used in medical operating theatres.

Enfis has entered into a £1.2m three year contract to supplyhigh colour render index (CRI) light emitting diode light enginesto Chongqing Tianhai Medical Equipment Co.
The company is a worldwide manufacturer, marketer and distributorof high-tech medical materials, devices and instruments.

Under the terms of the agreement, Enfis will supplyself-calibrating high CRI light engines enabling operating theatrelighting units to provide tuneable white light for surgical teams.

Up to eight white light colour temperature settings can be utilisedto gain maximum clarity, depending on the type of surgery beingperformed.

This contract demonstrates one of the positive uptakes by themarket of Enfis' intelligent high-power LED engines.
The deal is the first to be secured via the company’sShanghai office which opened earlier this year.

Chief executive of Enfis, Shaun Oxenham, said: "Operating theatrelighting specifications are the most demanding white lightapplication in the lighting industry to achieve. Our light engineshave been chosen for this application because the quality andtuneability of the light delivered by the Enfis light engine.
