OpenTV and FOXTEL Launch Quad Tuner High Definition PVR

SAN FRANCISCO--( BUSINESS WIRE )--OpenTV Corp. (NASDAQ:OPTV), a leading provider of solutions forthe delivery of advanced digital television and advancedadvertising services, today announced the commercial launch of thenew FOXTEL iQ2 High Definition PVR, a quad tuner set-top box thathas almost double the recordable capacity of the current FOXTEL iQand provides an HD platform with integrated PVR services to FOXTELsubscribers.
For the first time, FOXTEL viewers will be able to seamlesslyutilize PVR functionality for both the FOXTEL Standard Definitionservice and the newly launched FOXTEL HD+ High Definition serviceon one box, at just the touch of a button. This seamless viewerexperience is made possible by OpenTV Core2 middleware withintegrated PVR support, which provides the interfaces necessary forHigh Definition multi-tuner set-top devices that support advancedservices such as multiple simultaneous recordings in both SD andHD, while pausing live TV.
