WEG Building New Transformer Plant to Serve U.S. Customers New state-of-the-art WEG facility dedicated solely to servingutility, municipality, wind and industrial markets with firstdeliveries scheduled for early summer 2009.

ATLANTA, Georgia, June 17, 2008 - WEG Electric Motors Corp. ( www.wegtransformers.com ), a leading global supplier of motors, drives and transformers,has broken ground on an advanced transformer plant dedicated toserving U.S. customers in the utility, municipality, wind, andindustrial market segments. Located just north of Mexico City, thestate-of-the-art 75,000 sq. ft. facility will provide transformersof up to 300 MVA (million volt-amperes) and 230 kV.
