Shenergy, GD Power Development Inaugurate Fuel Supply JV

Registering CNY 50 million in capital, the new venture is engagedin purchasing, transferring and storing coal and heavy oil, whichare both fuel needed in power generation. It will mainly supplycoal to Shanghai Waigaoqiao No. 2 Electric Power Generating Co.,Ltd., which has two 900-megawatt supercritical generation units,Shanghai Waigaoqiao No. 3 Electric Power Generating Co., Ltd.,which has two 1,000MW supercritical generation units, and otherpower generation arms of Shenergy at first. Besides, it wouldinvest in sectors of coalmine, port and transportation in thefuture.
The new firm is expected to help security stable fuel supply foraffiliate power generators in Shanghai, especially in theapproaching peak power consumption period in summer. Besides, itwould facilitate production cost reduction of these powercompanies.
