Capable of switching data at signaling data rate of 5.0 Gbps with operating voltages of 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3 V, Models MAX4888A/MAX4889A feature single digital-control input to switch signal paths. Model MAX4888A is dual SPDT switch that is suited for switching 2 equivalent lanes (Rx or Tx) of PCIe data, while Model MAX4889A quad switch handles 4 equivalent lanes. Units are fully specified to operate from single 3.0-3.6 V power supply over extended -40 to 85°C temperature range.

The MAX4888A is a dual, high-speed, passive PCIe switch and the MAX4889A is a quad, high-speed, passive PCIe switch, both of which can switch at a data rate of 5.0Gbps.

o The MAX4888A/MAX4889A are both capable of switching PCIe 2.0 data rates with operating voltages of 1.8, 2.5, or 3.3V in an industry-standard pinout.

o Maxim's carefully designed layout allows the MAX4888A/MAX4889A to meet the PCIe 2.0 standard, while adding very little jitter.
