Electrical Problem Suspected In Poland Fire

A couple from Poland have firefighters to thank for saving their home.

Officials said the two people who live at 39 Jackson Rd. were away at a birthday party and found the house filled with smoke when they returned at about midnight on Friday.

Firefighters kept the flames contained mostly to the basement, but the rest of the house suffered smoke and heat damage.

An official cause has not been determined, but investigators said an electrical problem is a possibility.

Firefighters said they believe the house can be repaired. In the meantime, the couple is staying with relatives.
