Enemalta investigating cable faults

Enemalta Corporation is investigating high voltage cable faults inMikiel Anton Vassalli Street close to the National Pool atTal-Qroqq.
A fault occurred last Friday afternoon and as a result a powerfailure was registered in parts of Sliema, Msida and Ta' Xbiex.Enemalta took immediate action and restored the supply two hourslater.
But another fault occurred on Tuesday evening on the same highvoltage cable some 60 metres from the original fault in the samestreet. This time a power failure was registered in Msida Circusand parts of Ta' Xbiex. Electricity was restored just over an hourlater.
As part of investigations by the corporation, one lane of MikielAnton Vassalli Street has been closed down in the direction towardsSt Julians. Drivers are advised to use caution in this area and arerequested to cooperate with police/traffic wardens present in thearea. The corporation may be reached on freephone 8007 2224.
