Vodafone targets growth in mobile internet services with alliancesand acquisitions

Mobile internet data revenues are expected to show strong growth inthe near future. Vodafone is preparing for this growth both throughalliances (e.g. with Google, Yahoo and MySpace) and throughacquisitions (ZYB). In 2008, Vodafone even created a dedicatedInternet Services Unit, with which it targets an additional 10percent of group revenue. Part of the expected growth should comefrom mobile social networking and mobile advertising. Telecompaperexpects that mobile internet will continue to grow during thecoming years and become an important revenue stream for operators.
