Toshiba upgrades Satellite family of laptops

Toshiba today announced the latest iteration of its Satellitelaptops, with enhanced capabilities for the Satellite P300 , Satellite A300 , Satellite M300 and Satellite U400 series.

The most notable new feature for gadget fans is Toshiba's newsleep-and-charge USB ports, supporting USB charging of gadgetswhether the laptop is powered-on, off or in hibernation. Satellitelaptops have now also received a built-in FM tuner, while selectconfigurations now also offer a eSATA/USB combo port for a fasterconnection to external hard drives.

Each Satellite laptop now also comes equipped with Toshiba FaceRecognition software, a feature that lets users use the integratedweb camera for access verification. Additionally, each newSatellite delivers a set of Harman Kardon stereo speakers. Selectconfigurations are now also supporting Toshiba's REGZA LINK(HDMI-CEC) technology, enabling users to control multiple deviceswith a single remote control.

Toshiba today also announced support for the 64-bit version ofWindows Vista, which takes advantage of a full 4GB of memory incertain conditions. Lastly, The Toshiba Satellite P300D, A300D,M300D, U400D, L300D and L350D series of laptops should now offer variations of AMD's Athlon DualCore QL, Turion Dual Core RM and Turion Ultra ZM processortechnology.
