Chemtura Increases Prices on Bisphosphate Flame Retardants

MIDDLEBURY, Conn. - (Business Wire) Effective June 15th, 2008, oras contract terms allow, Chemtura Corporation (NYSE : CEM) willincrease pricing for Reofos ® BAPP and Reofos ® RDP aryl bisphosphate ester flame retardants by $0.65 per kilogramin all regions. Chemtura is also removing all extended pricevalidity.
This increase has become necessary due to sharp and continuingrises in the cost of elemental phosphorus, a key component of theseproducts, together with significant increases in other rawmaterials, utilities and transportation costs. The steep increaseson these costs create the additional necessity to remove pricevalidity beyond 15 days. This allows the flexibility to changeprice at a rate that maintains a sustainable supply.
