Encapsulated in a titanium package measuring 6.4 mm x 5.5 mm, the 3225M23 and 3225M24 voltage-mode (IEPE) piezoelectric accelerometers from Dytran are able to mount in spaces potentially inaccessible to other types of accelerometers. Intended for shock and vibration measurements in space-constrained lightweight applications such as in board-mounted devices, the peizoceramic teardrop-shaped sensors have a weight of 1g and can be mounted in place with adhesive. With a sensitivity of 100 mV/g ±10 percent at 100 Hz, 1 grms and a frequency response from 2 to 10,000 Hz ± 10 percent, the accelerometer accepts from +18 to +30 V at 2 to 20 mA and has an integral 3-56 coaxial connector for the included removable data cable providing a 10-32 jack for system interface.
