Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management (UK) Ltd. (MUAM), part ofMitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, one of the world's largestfinancial institutions, has gone live with investment managementplatform, SimCorp Dimension, in just six months.
The SimCorp Dimension system, supporting MUAM's entire clientoperations, was implemented successfully on time and on budgetusing SimCorp's new BEST PRACTICE methodology.
MUAM is the first SimCorp customer to use the new approach, whichis aimed at dramatically reducing the time and customer-sideresources that an implementation can traditionally take, yetwithout compromising delivery quality. The initiative, covering allproject phases from analysis to live production has been developedby SimCorp based upon experience and documentation from over 150SimCorp Dimension implementation projects.
The innovative approach has produced a very successful outcome forMUAM. Harry Eyre, Company Secretary and Head of Operations andAdministration at MUAM, explained: "I have been very impressed withSimCorp's efforts to match our requirements to the system and itsfunctionality. I felt that SimCorp was very proactive during theimplementation and in providing documentation supporting theprocesses behind it."
Live since early August and incorporating support for pre- andpost-trade compliance, position keeping, valuation, incomeprocessing, corporate actions, performance measurement andattribution, client reporting, holding reconciliation and custodianand third party extracts, MUAM has already begun to see thebenefits of choosing SimCorp Dimension as the operating platformacross its entire investment universe.
Eyre says: "We have seen numerous benefits. To single two out: wenow have access to an open database, so we can readily obtain theinformation we need from the system; and we also now have STPcapability. It's clear that SimCorp Dimension is going to add a lotof benefits to our business in terms of current functionality andfuture flexibility."
Klaus Andersen, senior vice president and managing director ofSimCorp in the UK added: "MUAM's staff have been very supportive ofthis first BEST PRACTICE implementation and we're delighted theyfeel it has gone so well. We now hope to use this methodologyincreasingly for rapid delivery of high quality implementations forfuture new customers."
