With Measure Foundry 5.1, Data Translation has released a newversion of its open application builder for test and measurementsystems. The software is now compatible with Windows Vista andfeatures various enhancements which significantly simplify thedevelopment of applications for temperature, sound and vibrationmeasurement. Measure Foundry is an open test and measurementsoftware solution for all standard instrument and bus standards.Besides the LXI and PXI/VXI hardware interfaces, the software alsosupports the GPIB, USB, PCI and RS232 interfaces and the VISA, SCPIand IVI-COM driver standards. The program allows creating test andmeasurement applications by simple drag and drop and withoutwriting code.
Measure Foundry Version 5.1 is compatible with the Windows Vistaoperating system and offers new components that make thedevelopment of test and measurement applications easy, particularlyin the area of temperature, sound and vibration measurement. Withthe "Analog Input Synched" component, for example, users canquickly couple and configure two DT9837A USB data acquisitionmodules. This allows building high-performance system solutionswith eight analogue inputs, two tachometer inputs and two analogueoutputs for sound, vibration and sonar measurement.
Measurement applets are also available for rapid applicationdevelopment. These applets are ready-to-run executables that can bequickly modified in Measure Foundry or combined with otherfunctions to create customised solutions. The new features alsoinclude an ASCII File Writer component, which allows saving themeasurement results to user-formattable ASCII files. The softwareis available in different versions offering different levels offunctionality.
