MolecularImprints, Inc., the market and technology leader of nanopatterningsystems and solutions, today announced that Ben Eynon and PaulHofemann have joined its management team. These distinguishedindustry veterans are assuming the roles of vice president ofmarketing and business development for semiconductors, and vicepresident of marketing and business development for hard diskdrives and emerging markets, respectively. Between them theypossess nearly 40 years of combined experience in leadershippositions at top semiconductor and data storage equipment andtechnology companies. The addition of these executives to MolecularImprints is another indication of the company's growing momentum,as leading manufacturers and technologists alike increasinglyrecognize the unique advantages of its Step and Flash(R) ImprintLithography (S-FIL(R)) technology.
Eynon and Hofemann will focus their efforts on acceleratingMolecular Imprints' emergence as the world leader for sub-30nmpatterning of non- volatile memory devices and storage systems byworking closely with customers to provide the advanced solutionsthey require to succeed. Eynon will oversee development andintegration efforts of Molecular Imprints' innovative S-FILnanopatterning technology at leading semiconductor manufacturingcompanies, in addition to managing the company's developmentpartnership with SEMATECH. Hofemann is responsible for expandingthe company's leadership in the hard disk drive (HDD) industry. Hewill also drive the company's efforts in emerging nanopatterninggrowth opportunities in optical components, solid- state lighting, biotechnology and new environmentally friendly "green"applications.
"Ben and Paul are both accomplished executives, who joined our teambecause they recognize the strength of our technology and thegrowing market opportunities ahead of us," said Mark Melliar-Smith,CEO of Molecular Imprints. "Their arrival falls on the heels of twoimportant milestones which also serve to highlight our growingmomentum. Just over a month ago, we introduced the industry's onlyhigh-speed, double-sided pilot-production-ready nanopatterningsystem for patterned media applications. On the semiconductor sideof the business we recently announced a sale of our new Imprio 300system to SEMATECH, a consortium of leading semiconductormanufacturers. Our customers will benefit from their technical andmarket experience and knowledge."
Before joining Molecular Imprints, Eynon was the director ofadvanced lithography process development for Samsung and theassociate director of lithography for SEMATECH. His industryexperience also includes management positions at KLA-Tencor,Photronics, DuPont Photomasks and Texas Instruments. Hofemannpreviously held vice president-level roles in marketing andbusiness development at Photronics, ADE and Veeco Instruments --where he worked on HDD and emerging applications. Hofemann alsoheld management positions at KLA-Tencor, Semi-Gas Systems andApplied Materials.
