Why Character 'Fu' Converted in China

Whether at present or in the past, to place the character “blessing” on the door has very well embodied people’s yearning and pursuit for happiness. Many places convert the character to adopt partial tone that “fu qi dao le”( good luck has arrived). The custom was originated as early as Ming Dynasty and how to came into being, three versions are existed.

The first story is related to Prince Gong Palace. On the eve of the Spring Festival during Qing Dynasty, in order to please his master, the majordomo wrote several so big character “Fu” and asked to placard on the doors. On hearing that, the wife of infante awarded the servents instead of punishment.
