Bodal Chemicals plans Rs 1.4 bn expansion

Bodal Chemicals plans to invest Rs 1.40 billion on forward andbackward integration, reports Business Standard. The proposedexpansion will be funded through internal accruals and loans.
Under backward integration, the company is planning to producebasic raw materials for the manufacturing activity. Under forwardintegration, it plans to expand its existing manufacturingcapacity.
In the first phase of expansion, a 12,000 mtpa of dyestuff capacitywill be added and in second phase 3,600 mtpa of beta naphthol willbe added. In the third phase, 1,45,000 mtpa manufacturing capacityfor sulphuric acid and derivatives will be added.


Shares of the company gained Rs 3.2, or 4.95%, to end at Rs 67.8.The total volume of shares traded was 14,864 at the BSE. (Monday)
