Linx Printing Technologies has expanded its range of inks for theLinx IJ600 high-definition large character printer, offeringcustomers the choice of several pigmented inks to suit a widevariety of end-user Large Character Marking (LCM) needs.

Joining the existing Link Black ink LC8120, the new inks are LinxRed ink LC8130, Linx Green ink LC8140 and Linx Blue ink LC8150. Allfour are specially formulated, micropigmented inks, designed foruse with the Linx IJ600.These inks are ideal for coding onto a widerange of porous substrates where image quality and code legibilityare of prime importance. Ideal with paper, card, wood and ceramics, these inks give permanent legible codes for a variety of end uses -product identification, corporate branding, contact information oringredients list.
The additional colours allow customers to choose the most suitableoption for specific applications.
Linx Green ink LC8140, for example, is ideal for printing largecharacter environmental or recycling messages. Typical uses for Redink 8130 and Blue ink LC8150 might include hazard symbols oridentification of chilled foods in supply chains.

Linx inks for LCM are oil-based and dry rapidly on suitablesubstrates. They have a low odour and low volatility, making themideal for case-coding in food applications. The micropigments inthe inks ensure the codes do not bleed or rub off poroussubstrates. In addition, the printed message resists most organicsolvents and can withstand exposure to the elements in mostenvironments for more than a year, making them suitable for outdoorapplications such as wood used as building material.

Linx believes that LCM also provides opportunities for real costsavings for companies who wish to reduce stock by switching togeneric, unprinted outer-case packaging instead of multiplepre-printed varieties. "The high quality of Linx's LCM inks allowmanufacturers enormous flexibility in brand presentation and casedesign, so that they can use a single outer-case solution withoutsacrificing the impact, brand identification and aesthetic appealdemanded by marketing departments, supermarkets and customers,"comments Dr Paul Doody, Product Manager at Linx.
"Used in conjunction with Linx's high definition LCM printer, theLinx IJ600, these inks are suitable for demanding applications,"says Dr Doody. "This expansion of our range reflects Linx'scommitment to our customers by offering a wide choice of inkoptions to suit their particular needs."
