Atlantic Zeiser launches new Omega high resolution inkjet printingsystems and Smartcure 36/36i LED UV curing solution at drupa 2008
Atlantic Zeiser, supplier of dedicated personalization and encodingsystems for the label market, announces the introduction of theOMEGA 36 HD and OMEGA 210, two new high resolution inkjet printingsystems, and the launch of the SMARTCURE Series, a new eco-friendlyLED UV curing solution, at drupa 2008. During the world’slargest printing show, to be held from 29.5.08 – 11.6.08 inDüsseldorf, the company will also reveal the newestdevelopments in its in-house ink. Live demonstrations willhighlight the precision and versatility of the OMEGA 36/36i and thenew enhanced OMEGA 210, as well as CARDLINE VERSA, AtlanticZeiser’s versatile card personalization system.
Atlantic Zeiser acts as an experienced “one-stop”system integrator in order to supply complete modular and scalablesolutions for product marking and coding. To further broaden thesupply chain and the number of applications, Atlantic Zeiser hasdecided to offer its inkjet technology also to OEM partners forintegration into third party systems. As a first result MABEGMaschinenbau GMBH & Co. KG will present two OMEGA 36i withinspection cameras and two SmartCure 36i units in Hall 9, standA21.

The new OMEGA 36 HD and the enhanced OMEGA 210 digital inkjetprinters are the perfect extension to the successful OMEGA inkjetrange. These lightweight and compact size printers are easilyintegrated into most existing equipment. The OMEGA 36/36i range wasdesigned and developed by Atlantic Zeiser, reflecting thecompany’s years of expertise in inkjet development.
The printers can be installed on web or sheet-fed applications.With a resolution of 720 dpi – compared to a resolution of360 dpi for the OMEGA 36/36i – the new OMEGA 36 HD(“High Definition”) in combination with AtlanticZeiser’s proprietary inks ensures clear and crisp printing ofextremely small characters and produces barcodes with excellentreadability and clarity.

This new cost-saving LED UV curingsolution is also eco-friendly due to a low energy consumptioncompared to lamp-based systems, a ten time longer life-time, noozone generation and lower cooling requirements. Its compact sizeallows for easy integration and it comes equipped with an instanton/off functionality that eliminates energy consumption duringmachine stops.
New in-house inks
As part of the ongoing process of innovation, new inks fordifficult surfaces such as cotton, plastics or varnished media areconstantly being developed and manufactured. To this effect,Atlantic Zeiser will present at drupa its latest developmentsregarding its in-house inks. Perfectly adapted to the new printerrange and LED UV curing solutions, Atlantic Zeiser’s in-houseinks are considered as special fast-curing inks developing a highcontrast with a high adhesion to non-absorbent substrates. Insecurity printing applications in particular, specially developedsecurity inks and color inks (as well as spot as CMYK processcolors) are used alongside ordinary ink types.
