Camp Hill, PA . - Americans struggling to find the money to pay forprescription drugs will be able to realize significant savings onmore than 10,000 prescription drugs with the free Rite Aid RXSavings Card available at all Rite Aid drugstores across thecountry Sept. 29. The card, which requires no membership fee and isfree to anyone who enrolls, also provides an immediate discount onmore than 3,200 Rite Aid brand products, including 1,500over-the-counter medications.

"The Rite Aid RX Savings Card has been so successful in Michigan,North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and California that we haveexpanded the program nationwide" said Bill Wolfe, Rite Aid groupvice president, pharmacy. "Residents in those states reallyembraced the card and in only a few months have saved over $5million on their prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines and RiteAid brand items"

Cards can be obtained at any Rite Aid store nationwide. Cardbenefits are effective as soon as the application is completed andturned into a Rite Aid pharmacy. Benefits of the free card include:

* Access to more than 400 generic medications at $8.99 for a 30-daysupply and $15.99 for a 90-day supply for each prescription;
* A 20% discount on all other generic medications and brand drugprescriptions;
* A 30-day supply of select generic oral contraceptives for $19.99;and
* A 10% savings on more than 3,200 Rite Aid brand products, whichinclude more than 1,500 over-the-counter medications

The Rite Aid RX Savings Card will especially benefit those who haveno or limited prescription insurance. Others who will findparticular benefit from the card are those whose prescription plandoes not cover certain drugs or who have reached their benefitlimits. (Persons receiving benefits from publicly funded healthcare programs are ineligible.)

The company launched a nationwide "Fill Upand Fuel Up" program in June that offers customers who transfertheir prescriptions to Rite Aid a $30 Rite Aid gift cardimmediately and the chance to win a years worth of free gas valuedat $2,600. Customers continue to be eligible for weekly chainwidedrawings for a years worth of free gas through Jan. 10, 2009, aslong as their transferred prescriptions stay with Rite Aid.

Rite Aid also recently announced its Automated Courtesy RefillsSweepstakes running Sept. 1 through Dec. 31, 2008, at which timeone prize winner will be drawn for a Chevy Malibu Hybrid valued atmore than $26,000 and $3,000 in gas cards. The free courtesy refillprogram automatically fills a prescription before it runs out. RiteAid will call customers when prescriptions are ready for pick-up.The drugstore also will contact a customers physician forprescription renewals. Every prescription filled with Rite AidsAutomated Courtesy Refills gives the customer another entry in thesweepstakes drawing.
