With immediate effect or as contracts allow, BASF is increasing thesales prices for carbonyl chloride derivatives (CCDs) worldwide 11 Jun 2008 : With immediate effect or as contracts allow, BASF is increasingthe sales prices for carbonyl chloride derivatives (CCDs) worldwideby 8-15%, and up to 20% in Asia, depending on the specific product.The price adjustments for CCDs are triggered by continuously highraw materials and energy costs.

The CCD portfolio comprises mainly acid chlorides andchloroformates, which are primarily used to make organic peroxidesfor the production of polymers (PVC). They are also important asintermediates for pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Furtherapplications are cosmetics, soaps & detergents, miningchemicals, polymer additives and electroplating chemicals.
