Dow Corning Electronics Introduces its High-Performance TC-5026Thermal Grease to the Automotive Industry
MIDLAND, Mich., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dow Corning Corporation's Automotive Electronics group todayannounced that its DOW CORNING(R) TC-5026 Thermally ConductiveCompound is now available for automotive industry use. Althoughoriginally developed primarily for use in computer-industrysemiconductor components, extensive customer testing has nowestablished that the unique performance characteristics of TC-5026also make it well-suited for use in demanding, high-temperatureautomotive applications.
TC-5026 sets a new industry standard for performance, withextremely low thermal resistance, reliability and stability underadverse conditions such as thermal cycling, high humidity andhigh-temperature aging. This high-performance thermal grease offersup to 30 percent lower thermal resistance than competing products,helping to keep chips cooler and operating efficiently.
Its thermal conductivity of 2.9 W/mK provides especially strongthermal performance when used in small bondlines, making TC-5026ideal for use in entertainment and other interior automotiveelectronics applications. For larger bondline uses, Dow Corning hasdeveloped and will soon launch additional thixotropic compoundsthat can be used to fill 1 mm or larger gaps while deliveringsimilarly impressive results.

Dow Corning's unique formulation makes TC-5026 resistant topump-out, dry-out separation or migration through its advancedsolvent-free composition. These characteristics are especiallyimportant in harsh automotive environments to avoid thermaldegradation over time. The formulation enables easy spreading usingscreen printing and dispensing, even after storage and exposure toair.
