The three models of the XD600 material dryer family provide airflowrates from 250-2500 m3/hr. A key feature of these units is theirreduced energy consumption. For example, a 2500 m3/hr unit can saveup to €36,000/yr for a processor compared to older competitivedryers, says the manufacturer. Coupling the X PET-PRO specialhopper featuring Crossed Thermal Exchanger (CTX) for the treatmentof highly hygroscopic engineering resins with the XD600 series, PETprocessors are also able to save up to 60% on the energy costsnormally needed for drying. For polycarbonate applications thecompany offers the OX dryer that is equipped with hopper andsuction unit plus a touchscreen control system to provide constantmonitoring of feeding and material demand. According to themanufacturer, its reduced size means processors save up to 25% ofthe shopfloor space compared to units from competitive suppliers.
