Hikal commissions new agro-chemical plant at Taloja

MUMBAI: Hikal Limited, on Monday announced the commissioning of itsnew multi-purpose agro-chemical plant at Taloja.

"We are happy that the multi-purpose facility has beencommissioned, and the supplies will commence in the second- half asplanned. This is an important project for Hikal and it will have asignificant impact on our agro-chemical business," Hikal Ltd'sVice-Chairman and Managing Director, Jai Hiremath, said in a pressstatement issued today.

The company had signed a long-term manufacturing agreement with theBayer CropScience AG (an arm of the German pharma major, Bayer AG)for the supply of active ingredients for crop protection productsin March this year.

Hikal is a long-term outsourcing partner to companies in the cropprotection products, pharmaceuticals and speciality chemicalsindustry.

The company has been supplying key active ingredients (A1) andintermediates to customers across Europe, the US and Japan.
