Western Polymer Corp. Announces General Price Increase

MOSES LAKE, Wash., June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Western Polymer isannouncing a general 10% to 15% price increase for its cationicwet-end and specialty starches. This increase applies to WesternPolymer's cationic wet-end starches brand named Wescat(R) andWespoly(TM) and specialty Wescote(TM) brand starches.

Western Polymer has endeavored to hold pricing constant for moststarch products for the past ten months. However, during thisperiod, costs for energy, labor, raw starch and chemicals haverisen steadily and at times dramatically and continue to rise.Western Polymer is no longer able to hold prices down and requiresa general price increase on wet-end and specialty starches in orderto maintain operating margins.
