Convenience Store Open When Thieves Haul off ATM

DALLAS  --  Dallas police were looking for the brazen thieves Monday morning who pulled an ATM machine right through the front wall of a convenience store while the clerk was inside working.

Police said the clerk was not hurt or threatened.

The thieves smashed into the store in the 2800 block of South Walton Walker around 5 a.m.

They pulled the ATM out and loaded it up onto a truck.

Police have not caught up with the suspects but will be reviewing surveillance video.

The number of ATM thefts has doubled since last year, according to police statistics.
