Fry Communications Adds UV Coating Systems

LMechanicsburg, - Fry Communications Inc. recently completed the installation andtesting of new offline UV coating systems at its Mechanicsburgmanufacturing campus. The new UV coater will provide high qualityflood coat and spot UV capabilities in both gloss and dull finishesas an addition to both sheetfed and web production.
High quality UV augments Fry's existing inline finishing choices byoffering an additional option for high end products that requiremaximum coating coverage and "near film lamination" in opticalproperties. Offline UV typically offers gloss readings in the 92 to94 range on a 60 degree gloss meter, as compared to high 70s to low80s for web-applied UV. High quality UV is also appropriate forcommercial, catalog, and publication products requiring variouspost-print operations such as embossing, foil stamping, andmultiple colors that require dry trapping.
