Neenah, WI - Appleton Manufacturing has introduced the A400PAutomatic Core Cutter system designed to cut both plastic and fibercores. The A400P features a hydraulic-powered core feed and cutoffalong with automated batch processing for optimum operatingefficiency. New hydraulic valving results in an enhanced range offeed and cutting speeds to accommodate a wide range of corematerials. Appleton's fixed-knife design provides clean, polished, virtually dust-free cuts by slitting paper core material, ratherthan sawing, scoring or crush cutting. Appleton's proprietaryparting tool technology, along with a chip removal vacuum system, helps ensure clean, square-cuts on all plastic cores without riskof melting plastic edges.

The A400P is easy to operate with an LCD operator interface thatsimplifies data input and provides operator feed back. An auto-offfeature stops the cutter when idle, saving energy while improvingoperator safety. As a PLC-equipped cutter, the A400P can readilyaccept additional automation options including an auto-indexingknife and automated parent and cut-core handling systems.
